FUNDAMENTALS OF Self Protection

Fundamentals of Self-Protection

4 Weeks | Tuesdays and Thursdays

This is where capability starts.

Our Fundamentals of Self-Protection course is a focused four-week training designed to teach everyday adults how to handle themselves in the real world.

No flashy moves.
No choreography.
No experience required.

Over four Tuesday sessions, you’ll learn:

  • How to stay aware and avoid dangerous situations

  • How to manage distance and control space

  • How to deliver simple, effective strikes

  • How to break free from common grabs and holds

  • How to stay calm and decisive under pressure

Every session builds on the last. You’ll train in a structured, beginner-friendly environment where you’re challenged — but never thrown in over your head.

At Edge, we don’t just teach techniques.

We build stronger, more capable people.

You’ll sweat. You’ll learn. You’ll gain confidence.
And you’ll do it alongside a team that pushes you forward.

If you’ve ever thought, “I should probably know how to protect myself,”
this is your starting point.

FREQUENT OBJECTIONS

  • “Every journey starts with the first step.”

Overused cliches aside, many of the coaches remember their start too. We can also attest that the scariest moments are the first ones. The hardest part is taking the first step into the gym. The rest only gets easier from there.

  • You don’t need to be fit to start - you just need to start. Our classes are designed to build strength and stamina from wherever you are today. You’ll be surprised with how quickly you improve.

  • The goal of our classes is for you to go at your own pace. That being said, if you have an injury, be sure to tell the coaches. Injuries are common, and there are plenty of ways to modify trainings and drills to keep recovery on track.

  • Self-protection has no age limit. Whether you’re 18 or 60, anyone can learn how to protect themselves. Unlike other types of martial arts, Krav Maga is not based on age, gender, strength or size. More than anything, it's a mindset that screams "I am not going to be a victim!"

  • I mean, yeah… You’re going to make mistakes, and you’re not going to get it down AT FIRST. Every coach and everyone in class understands that the safest place to make those mistakes is with the people who’ve already made them and more: The coaches! Welcome to our community of mistake makers. You are very welcome!
